Outline of Research at the Start

心理ストレスによって体温上昇や頻脈などの様々な交感神経反応や行動変化が生じるが、こうした心身相関反応の中枢神経メカニズムは未解明である。研究代表者らはストレス信号を大脳皮質から視床下部へ伝達して心身相関反応を惹起するマスター神経路を発見した（Science 2020）。本研究では、その上位の皮質辺縁系神経回路の解明に挑戦する。ファイバーフォトメトリー法や新規in vivoイメージング技術などを用いて上位の皮質辺縁系領域間の結合関係を明らかにし、特定した皮質辺縁系神経回路を操作しながら心身相関反応における機能を証明することによって脳の中の「ストレス」や「情動」の科学的実体に迫る。
