Outline of Research at the Start |
The DNA of living cells is replicated before cell division by large protein complexes called replisomes. Correct functioning of replisomes is crucial to prevent genetic defects. In this project, we will study the dynamics of replisomes in growing bacterial populations. This project will reveal the detailed functioning of this fundamental biophysical process, and will pave the way for an understanding of DNA replication in higher organisms.
