Outline of Research at the Start

水素を還元剤とした二酸化炭素やバイオマス関連化合物からの燃料・化学品合成において、従来と比較して反応圧力・温度などの反応条件のマイルド化により、多様な目的生成物の高効率合成を可能にする触媒系と反応系の開発を目指す。具体的には、反応基質分子などにより阻害されにくく、副反応が抑制される水素分子の活性化を可能にする固体触媒材料などの開発、活性化水素種の輸送を促進する方法の検討、活性化水素種の反応性向上のための固体活性点構造の構築などを行う。そして、これらの機構解明、すなわち、水素分子の活性化機構、輸送機構、触媒反応機構の解明を行う。固体触媒系と同時に、生体触媒や均一系触媒への展開も図る。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、水素を還元剤とした二酸化炭素やバイオマス関連化合物からの燃料・化学品合成において、従来と比較して反応圧力・温度などの反応条件のマイルド化し、多様な目的生成物の高効率合成法の確立を目的として、水素の活性化に着目した触媒反応系の開発と機構解明を目指すものである。副生成物を与えてしまうような反応活性種になることなく、水素分子のみを活性化する機能性を持った材料 (水素ファシリテーターと呼ぶ)を開発し、様々な触媒系と組み合わせて、多様な反応系(固体触媒系、均一触媒系、生体触媒系)へと展開することで、これまでよりも飛躍的に低圧の条件下においても触媒を有効に機能させることができることを目指している。本年度は、水素ファシリテーター材料として、これまでの銀や金のナノ粒子以外の候補も検討した。バイオマス関連化合物に多く存在する隣接水酸基を、炭素-炭素二重結合に変換する脱酸素脱水反応において、水素を還元剤と用いることを可能にする固体触媒の開発が重要とされている。この反応について、酸化チタン表面にモリブデン酸化物を高分散させ、銅の金属ナノ粒子を共存させることで、1,4-アンヒドロエリスリトールから2,5-ジヒドロフランを比較的高収率で与えることが示された。これは、銅が炭素-炭素二重結合の水素化を進行させず、水素を活性化し、脱水脱酸素反応活性点であるモリブデン酸化物種へと供給されていることを示しており、銅の水素ファシリテーターとしてのポテンシャルを示すものといえる。活性化水素種の生成と輸送の機構解明のためのモデル触媒の開発を進めた。

Reason

本研究は、水素を還元剤とした二酸化炭素やバイオマス関連化合物からの燃料・化学品合成において、従来と比較して反応圧力・温度などの反応条件のマイルド化し、多様な目的生成物の高効率合成法の確立を目的として、水素の活性化に着目した触媒反応系の開発と機構解明を目指す。この目標を達成するために、研究内容を3つのタスクに分けて研究を推進する。
タスクA: 水素分子のみを活性化する機能性を持った材料(水素ファシリテーター)の開発
タスクB: 触媒反応(固体触媒系、均一触媒系、生体触媒系)への水素ファシリテーター材料の応用
タスクC: 活性化水素種の生成と輸送の機構解明
タスクAについては、銀、金、銅などの粒子を酸化セリウムや酸化チタンに分散させたものが水素を還元剤とする脱酸素脱水反応において水素ファシリテーターとして有望であることを明らかにすることができた。タスクBについては、タスクAで見出された材料について、様々な触媒を用いた、様々な反応物質の水素化反応への展開を図っており、成果を上げつつある。タスクCについて、それぞれのアプローチに適したモデルサンプルの調製が重要であり、その目途が付きつつある。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

水素分子のみを活性化する機能性を持った材料 (水素ファシリテーター)の開発については、引き続き研究を行う。特に、二酸化炭素の水素化反応に対する水素圧低減に寄与できるような材料の開発を目指す。また、これまで見出してきた水素ファシリテーター材料について、固体触媒を用いたカルボニル化合物やカルボン酸の水素化反応、均一系触媒を用いたカルボン酸の水素化反応、生体触媒反応系についてはニコチンアミドアデニンジヌクレオチドのモデル化合物の水素による還元反応などを検討を進める。活性化水素種の生成と輸送の機構解明については、作成したモデル触媒を用いて、準大気圧X線光電子分光法、交流インピーダンス測定、DFT計算、固体NMRなどの解析を行う。特に、水素ガスや溶媒分子の共存によって、水素分子の解離活性化、酸化物へのスピルオーバー、酸化物表面での拡散などについて基盤的なパラメータ取得などを行う。
