Outline of Research at the Start

現代の科学理論に現れる理論的対象の実在性は、科学哲学における主要なテーマのひとつであり、科学的実在論論争と呼ばれている。申請者は先行研究において、科学的実在論論争を、同時期に並行して発展してきた認識論(知識や信念の正当化に関する理論)の観点から分析するプログラム(認識論的アプローチ)を提案し、実際に代表的な立場から分析を行った。しかしながら、その後の科学的実在論論争では、ローカリズムと呼ばれる分析アプローチや、科学的理解に関する議論など、新たな流れが登場している。本研究は、これらと認識論的アプローチとの関連性を明らかにし、 より現代的な形で認識論的アプローチを提示し直すことを目的とする。
