Outline of Research at the Start

18世紀末から19世紀前半の英国における予約購読出版と図書施設を基軸にした読者層と文学の相互影響関係を探る研究である。本研究では、非英語圏、特にドイツ・フランス文学作品とその英語翻訳作品の受容から、大西洋往還の文学・文化的影響を探る。次代への文学嗜好の胎動を、予約購読者の情報、会員制有料読書施設の名簿、そして出版社帳簿資料等の分析によって、実証的に明らかにするものである。
