Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、シェイクスピア劇における食文化と移民表象の研究を統合し、宗教改革後の新教徒移民流入による人や物の変化・リロケーションが植民地主義や近代資本主義に向かう英国の地域社会の経済や文化に与えたインパクトについて、同胞と外国人など単純な二分法によらない間文化的視座を与えることを目的とする。シェイクスピア劇の宴会表象分析の成果を、続く大陸の新教徒移民研究に接続し、シェイクスピアの食と移民表象を総合的に解明する。当時の植民地主義の勃興や宗教改革の余波などにより地域の経済活動や物質・視覚文化に生じた変化や移動という社会的文脈を通して、シェイクスピア作品の仲介者としての役割を学際的に解明する。
