Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、英語圏のディストピアという物語形式の形成と変容について、(a)モダニズムの文学・思想との関係性、(b)ユートピア的エコロジーの変容、(c)トランスナショナルなメディア文化という３つの軸から文学史的に再考するものである。21世紀初頭における「ディストピア」というジャンルの再興隆への認識を出発点として、その古典的傑作の多くが世に問われた20世紀前半の社会的・文化的環境を歴史的に振り返って再精査することで、この物語形式に内在する批評性、ならびにその変容可能性を系譜学的に理解することを目的とする。
