Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research is progressed smoothly in 2023 with a significant amount of quantitative data gathered via the students' TOEIC scores and GCI surveys before and after their participation in NMUN conferences overseas. Still, it is clear that the quantitative data will need to be suplimented with qualitative interviews in order to get the full picture of the Model UN's overall impact on students' global competency and English skill development.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In 2024 we will: Present at Academic Council of the UN System (ACUNS) in Tokyo in June; hold JUEMUN and and the GNS at Notre Dame Seishin University in June; present at Japan Association of Language Teachers (JALT) National Conference in November; attend NMUN New York in spring 2025; Add qualitative interviews to our quantitative GCI study in order to gain a deeper understanding of subjects' global development; start interviewing ex MUN participants now in the workforce or graduate school.
