Outline of Research at the Start	遺跡から出土する脆弱な木製遺物の保存処理では、安定化のための薬剤の含浸に長い期間を要することから、その効率化が長年の課題とされてきた。申請者らはこれまで、遺物表面での水分蒸発によって遺物内部に液体の流れを生じさせ、溶質を積極的に吸収・蓄積させる新たな薬剤含浸法の開発に取り組んできた。本研究では、従来とは異なる新たな発想に基づいて、水浸状態の出土木製遺物に対して非水溶性薬剤を直接含浸させる保存処理法の確立を目指す。これにより、木製遺物の保存処理効率の飛躍的な向上だけでなく、処理後の保管環境条件の緩和や、経済的負担や環境負荷の大幅な軽減が期待される。
