Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は非過疎地域にありながら過疎地域相当の人口減少を示している昭和の大合併以前の旧市町村を「忘れられた過疎地域」と定義し、これを人口データと地理空間データを用いた地理空間分析により特定し、その空間構造と生態構造の検討から「忘れられた過疎地域」をめぐる地域構造を明らかにするとともに、現地調査から「忘れられた過疎地域」の具体的な現状と課題を検討することを通じて、「忘れられた過疎地域」を含めた新たな過疎地域論を探索的に創造することを目的とする。
