Outline of Research at the Start	磁性体表面で直線偏光が反射すると楕円偏光になる．この現象を用いると磁性やスピン流の発生を検出できるが，それを超えて磁性関連現象をより深く理解し解明するには，その楕円偏光から非対角光学応答を算出する必要がある．しかし，その方法は，等方性結晶の場合とは異なり，異方性結晶においては未知であった．本研究に先立ち我々はより広く適用可能な基本原理(公式)を見いだした．本研究ではまず，この基本原理を元に現実的な計測法を確立する．またこの式から，我々はこれまでの計測では物質内の詳細な異方性を見逃していたことに気づいた．偏光解析により「真の異方性とは何か」を探究する．
