Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は，中性子星内殻における核物質の結晶構造が中性子の有効質量に及ぼす影響を定量的に明らかにすることである．近年，中性子星内殻に存在する核物質の結晶構造に対するバンド理論計算により，ある密度領域において中性子の有効質量が裸の質量の10倍以上になり得ることが指摘された．このことは様々な中性子星の物理の解釈に影響を与えるため，物議を醸している．本研究では，課題代表者が先行研究で開発した時間依存密度汎関数法に基づく自己無撞着なバンド理論に超流動性を導入し，大規模並列計算コードを開発・応用することで，中性子星内殻におけるバンド構造効果を微視的な計算によって定量的に明らかにすることを目指す．
