Outline of Research at the Start

噴火に関わるマグマプロセスを理解していくためには、天然試料から短い時間スケールを読み解く手法の開発が欠かせない。本研究では、捕獲岩の鉱物粒間に発達するガラスバンドの厚さから、溶融継続時間を見積もる新しい手法を開発することを目的とする。細粒花崗岩の非平衡溶融実験を行い、非平衡溶融の進行過程を粒子スケールで明らかにする。また、鉱物溶解の律速過程を判定した後、鉱物粒間に生じるガラスバンドの厚さを、溶融時間と溶融温度の関数として定式化する。本研究で得られた経験式を溶融を被った捕獲岩に適用することで、ガラスバンド厚さという組織情報から溶融時間を推定できるようになると期待される。
