Outline of Research at the Start

Limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy（LATE）は，リン酸化された43kDaのTAR DNA結合蛋白(TDP-43)が蓄積した神経細胞内封入体が辺縁系から新皮質に出現する神経変性所見である．本研究ではLATEの背景病理と早期病変分布，LATE形成に関わる臨床・病理学的因子，LATEの神経細胞脱落への影響を明らかにし，LATEの形成抑制や，LATEが関わる様々な変性疾患の疾患経過を修飾する治療法(disease modifying therapy)の開発に寄与する知見を得る事を目標とする．
