Outline of Research at the Start

壊死や潰瘍を伴う重度の下肢虚血病変が生じた場合には、病変部の切断を避けるために、血行再建術や血管新生治療が選択されます。これらの治療経過においては皮膚症状の改善ばかりに注目が集まりがちですが、下肢の機能面の回復も重要です。そして、そのためには骨格筋のスムースな再生が必要です。現在、我々は、筋の再生と形成に重要な役割を担っている可能性のある新規分子を見出しています。本研究では、この分子の詳細なメカニズムを解明し、現在の治療への応用が可能かどうかを検討することで、新たな治療法開発につながる成果を得ることを目的としています。
