Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、ポリグリコール酸シートを層状に重ね合わせることで気密性・力学的強度を備えた新規生体材料の開発を目的としている。本素材は強度の調節が可能であるため、他の外科領域への適応や、再生医療との組み合わせにより応用拡大が期待される。そのため、今まで有効な治療法がなかった気管支瘻などの呼吸器外科疾患にとどまらず、他領域でも治療困難と考えられてきた患者層に対して、新たな治療選択肢を提供する。シート自体にiPS細胞などを播種させ自己組織化することで、耐久性に優れた臓器、器官の構成成分を作り出すことが可能となり、再生医療への応用拡大が期待できる。
