Outline of Research at the Start	レンサ球菌種では、他の微生物と同様に遺伝子の導入と確率論的に生じる遺伝子の欠失、挿入、転位、遺伝子重複などの遺伝子の変異により、形質の獲得が生じる。この遺伝子変異により獲得した形質は、さらに宿主ごとに異なる免疫系の違いや棲息部位における環境等が選択圧となり、宿主ごとに異なる細菌種が定着する。これは言い換えれば、獲得した形質により宿主が決定され、逆に定着できる細菌種も決まるとみることもできる。本研究では、遺伝系統学的な祖先を共通とするがヒトとそれ以外の動物とで宿主が異なる近縁の細菌種のゲノムを比較し、その違いからヒトに定着できるようになった遺伝情報をもつ部分を同定、データベース化を行う。
