Outline of Research at the Start	新規治療法の臨床開発過程において，従来は目標となる対象集団全体の平均的な治療効果を評価し，その有効性の程度や安全性とのバランスにおいて当該治療の有益性が議論されてきた．しかしながら，対象集団の中でも特性の違いにより治療効果が大きく異なる場合には，その違いを考慮した臨床評価を行うことで，有効な新規治療を逃すことなく社会へ提供し，また最適でない治療に曝露される患者を最小限に抑えることが可能となる．本研究ではそのような個人の違いを考慮した医療および臨床開発を促進するために解決すべき統計的課題について検討し，最適な臨床評価のための統計的方法を研究する．
