我々の腸内細菌叢の構成異常には、様々な要因が複雑に絡み合い近年増加傾向にある炎症性腸疾患や大腸癌の病態のみならず、動脈硬化性疾患にも重要な役割を担っていると考えられている。哺乳類キチナーゼの一種であるChitinase 3-like1（CHI3L1）は、炎症の慢性化や癌化に強く関連している。本研究の目的は、一般住民検診で収集したデータを基に、腸管内の炎症と血管の慢性炎症である動脈硬化との関連、すなわち「腸と心血管連関」を明らかにし、「食」の役割を検証する。本研究により、全身の腸炎、動脈硬化をはじめとした慢性炎症性疾患の発症予防、高齢者の健康寿命延伸のための疫学的エビデンスになると確信する。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究では、一般住民を対象とした住民検診において収集したデータを基に、腸管内の炎症と血管の慢性炎症である動脈硬化の関連である「腸と心血管連関」に関わる「食」の役割を検証することである。令和5年度は住民検診を実施し、血清及び糞便検体、栄養調査、動脈硬化検査などのデータの収集を行ない、横断的な検討を実施した。

次年度以降には、住民検診を経年的に実施し、検体及びデータの蓄積に努めるとともに、栄養調査のデータから食事由来の栄養素を含む分析や動脈硬化に関する様々な因子との検討を行う予定である。
