Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、日本海軍の「軍神」や戦争をめぐる顕彰活動について、地域社会や廃兵器の役割に注目して、戦前・戦後を通して検討するものである。本研究では、各地域の具体的な「軍神」の事例をふまえた上で、記念碑に据え付けられた廃兵器の払下げ制度全体を考察する。このことによって、地域社会や廃兵器が顕彰活動においてどのような役割を果たしたかについて戦前／戦後を通時的に明らかにし、軍事社会史研究に新たな展望を開く。
