| Outline of Research at the Start |
The proposed study intends to investigate how impatience (present-bias) mediates the influence of financial literacy on investment and borrowing behavior of Japanese households. “Financial literacy”and “impatience” are two main explanations for poor financial decisions. However, the existing literature hardly investigates the influence of “impatience” on the association between financial literacy and household financial decisions. This pioneering study will shed light on how household financial decisions are framed in the presence of rational and irrational behavior.

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究は極めて順調に推移し、令和５年度は当初の計画を大幅に上回る成果が出ている。令和5年度は、当該テーマに関する研究成果のインパクトファクター付きの国際学術誌に採択された４本の論文掲載である。令和５年度は、計画通り、データ分析に従事。研究環境のDX（デジタル・トランスフォーメーション）化により研究打合わせを効率的に行う環境を整えた。これらにより、論文執筆作業の効率が大きく向上した。
結果として、令和５年度は、研究成果として以下の成果を残した。前述のように、インパクトファクター付きの国際学術誌に採択された９本の論文掲載である。論文が採択された雑誌はSustainability(インパクトファクター=3.9× ３本）、Behavioral Sciences: Behavioral Economics (インパクトファクター=2.6×１本)である。Financial literayおよびstock market participationの研究テーマをCOVID-19感染拡大の推移とその収束等の時事的課題にも絡めた研究も推進することができた。
なお、上記成果に加え、年度末時点では査読付き国際学術誌に投稿し、査読中の論文がさらに数本ある。これらの成果は、研究予算の規模から考えてもコストパフォーマンスが極めて高いと考えられ、その意味でも当初の計画を大幅に上回る成果と言う事ができると考えられる。

令和５年度に書き上げて現在査読中の論文が２～３本ある。令和６年度はこれらの論文を採択へとつなげる他、昨年度に分析を開始したものの、書き上げていない新たな２本の論文についても発表を目指す。
