Outline of Research at the Start |
This research examines teaching quality and learning outcomes inequalities by gender and socioeconomic groups in Bhutan, Cambodia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Senegal, and Zambia. It uses mixed methods research design where quantitative findings are explained and by qualitative data.
|
Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This fiscal year, I started the quantitative analysis part of the research. I was able to have preliminary findings that I presented at an international conference in Morocco. Based on the feedback from this conference, I improved the research. After this improvement, the research was approved for a presentation at another international conference in Tokyo. Overall, these two conferences helped me refine the quantitative part of the research, and helped me write an article. The manuscript of this article is currently submitted to an international journal for review and publication.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I expected to complete the quantitative part of the research in the first year. I was able to complete it and present at conferences. Having already a manuscript submitted to a journal, I can say the objective of the first year was reached. Therefore, the research is progressing rather smoothly.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Having completed the quantitative part of the research, my plan is to move to its qualitative part. While waiting for feedback from the review of the manuscript submitted to the journal, I will start the design of the qualitative aspect of the research. Accordingly, in collaboration with a colleague from the target country of the qualitative research, I will start developing a qualitative analysis framework and develop instruments for field research. This means that I will go for field research to collect qualitative data that will help answer the findings of the quantitative analysis.
