Outline of Research at the Start

岐阜県飛騨市に設置された重力波望遠鏡KAGRAは、3kmの腕共振器を持った干渉計である。地下環境であることと共振器鏡4枚を極低温に冷却することが他にはないユニークな特徴である。4枚の低温鏡には、望遠鏡とCCDカメラからなるTelephoto Camera(TCam)システムが設置されている。本研究では (1)極低温の鏡の中心位置や表面をモニターできる (2)干渉計制御に用いる2種類のレーザーのビーム中心をモニターできるように、TCamのハードウェアとソフトウェアの両面から改良を行う。これにより腕共振器の安定性向上を目指し、鏡を低温化する重力波望遠鏡の将来計画にも応用可能な技術の開発を行う。
