| Outline of Research at the Start |
再発・転移頭頸部癌に対して免疫チェックポイント阻害薬が広く投与されているが、治療効果の得られない症例にも使用され続けている場合もあり、このような漫然とした投与継続は避けるべきである。
本研究では、PD-1阻害剤の効果を予測し、さらにその効果をモニタリングするバイオマーカーを同定することを目的とする。方法は、PD-1阻害剤投与前の癌組織の腫瘍免疫微小環境を病理学的に評価し、治療により経時的に変化する免疫細胞やサイトカインの免疫動態を評価する。さらに、PD-1阻害剤に耐性を獲得した腫瘍免疫微小環境を評価する。
本研究により、再発・転移頭頸部癌に対する新たな治療戦略が構築されることが期待される。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
久留米大学倫理委員会の承認を得た患者登録期間が終了し、最終的には再発・転移頭頸部扁平上皮癌患者74名が当研究に登録された。当初予定していた100名の登録はならなかった。これらの登録患者のNivo or Pembro療法前、投与中、耐性獲得後における血液検体は保存済みである。現在これらの検体を用いて、血中のサイトカインを解析中である。
