Outline of Research at the Start

切除不能な局所進行または局所再発の頭頸部癌に対する「ホウ素中性子捕捉療法(BNCT)」が保険適用となり，腫瘍選択的な次世代の革新的放射線治療として期待される．一方，照射野外に散乱される中性子フルエンスが大きいという弱点があり，患者を可能な限り照射孔に近づける必要がある．その結果，照射部位に応じて臥位や座位など患者毎に大きく異なる設定体位となり，放射線防護の観点から全身被曝線量は設定体位ごとに異なると考えられる．そこで本研究では，BNCTにおける様々な体位変形に対応した被曝線量評価の基盤技術を確立することを目的とした．本手法を応用することにより，様々な体位設定に対する被曝線量の把握が可能となる．
