Outline of Research at the Start

現在、神経細胞集団内で「どこの細胞がどの順番で活性化するのか」という活性化の時空間パターンの違いが情報処理や記憶の変化をもたらす可能性が示唆されている。この可能性を検証し、記憶等を規定する時空間パターンを明確にする方法の１つは、イメージングで活性化の場所と順番を①高速計測し、その順番通りに神経細胞を②1つずつ光照射して人為的に再活性化させ、記憶や行動が再現されるか検証することである。本研究では独自の①計測技術と②光照射技術を統合してシングルセル３Ｄオプトジェネティクス技術を開発し、マウスの大脳皮質L2/L3の解析に応用することで有用性を実証する。
