Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、これまで技術的な困難から20万気圧程度までに限定されていた高圧下での高温中性子回折実験の条件を、50万気圧以上に拡大するための技術開発を行うものである。J-PARCのパルス中性子実験施設MLF内の、超高圧中性子回折装置PLANETにおいて、6軸型マルチアンビルプレスに複数のアンビルを組み込んで加圧する多段式加圧を導入することで、超高温高圧力条件での中性子回折実験を可能にし、超高温高圧下で発現するとされる多彩な水素の振る舞いを直接観測することに挑む。
