Outline of Research at the Start

RNA分子は一般に直鎖状分子として細胞内で機能したり、ウイルスゲノムとして存在したりすると認識されている。一方で環状分子として存在する事例も少ないながら知られており、ウイロイドやSatellite RNA、Retroviroid、さらに細胞内RNAのプロセッシング過程で生じることがある。近年、このような環状RNA分子の重要性が明らかになりつつあり、環状RNA分子を正確にとらえる必要が生じている。しかし、これら環状RNA分子間の配列の保存性が低いことから、配列類似性に基づく探索が有効でない場合がしばしばある。そこで本研究では、環状RNAを特異的に網羅検出手法を確立する。
