Outline of Research at the Start	ミトコンドリアは独自のたんぱく質翻訳系を有しており、呼吸酵素複合体の構造遺伝子を生合成する。ミトコンドリアにおけるタンパク質翻訳の低下を介して好気呼吸を障害し、ミトコンドリア病の発症を引き起こすため、タンパク質翻訳の改善が翻訳低下を伴うミトコンドリア病の治療に効果的である。本研究は簡易かつ個体応用可能なミトコンドリアタンパク質翻訳の定量・可視化ツールを開発し、翻訳低下に起因するミトコンドリア病に対する革新的な治療薬の創出に挑戦する。本研究によりミトコンドリアタンパク質翻訳を標的とするハイスループットスクリーニングが可能となり、難病創薬につなげる。
