Outline of Research at the Start

自己を構成するタンパク質の約99%を核ゲノムに依存するミトコンドリア（Mito）は、細胞質で合成された前駆体タンパク質を輸送複合体の厳密な制御によって取り込んでいる。しかしながら、近年、幾つかの非典型的Mito構成タンパク質（非Mitoタンパク質）がMito内に存在することや、そうした非Mitoタンパク質によってMito機能が変化することを示唆する報告が存在する。但し、非Mitoタンパク質に関するMitoへの輸送機序は全く不明である。本研究は、非Mitoタンパク質がMitoへ輸送される機序を理解し、取り込まれた非Mitoタンパク質によってMito機能が修飾される（Mito-Modification）という新たな現象を見出そうとする挑戦的萌芽研究である。
