The existing satellite estimations of tree phenology have only been available for landscape-level phenology due to coarse resolutions. However, the species-level tree phenology is urgently requir ed to facilitate understanding fine-scale spatial patterns of forest phenology.Thus, this research aims to (1) explore the capability of CubeSats images for mapping species-level phenology across the forests of Japan; and (2) reveal the scale dependence of national vegetation phenology changes. As a result, this research will largely facilitate biodiversity studies and ecosystem modeling of forests.
