Outline of Research at the Start |
Access to reliable energy is vital for growth, well-being, and achieving UN SDGs, especially in climate efforts. Energy poverty persists in developing nations, exacerbated by COVID-19, causing more extreme poverty. It harms health, education, economies, and the environment, trapping communities in deprivation. This research studies energy poverty's impacts at the individual and household levels, exploring two key questions: [Q1] How does energy poverty affect children's human capital development in developing countries? [Q2] What is the impact of energy poverty on well-being in Vietnam?

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I presented at the Asian & Australasian Society of Labour Economics (AASLE) 2023 conference, held from December 7th to 9th in Taiwan. During the conference, I had the opportunity to present a paper on the impact of energy poverty on health outcomes in Vietnam. My presentation focused on the causality between energy poverty and its adverse effects on hospitalization, highlighting the urgent need for policy interventions in this area.
In addition to the AASLE conference, I attended the International Workshop on Experimental Economics, which took place on March 18-19 in Osaka.
Moreover, in collaboration with my co-author, we have successfully completed three drafts on various critical topics. These drafts cover the intersection of energy poverty, well-being, and health outcomes.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I obtained more research results than expected.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I will attend more conferences and workshops to receive feedback and comments. I aim to refine the drafts and submit them to peer-reviewed journals.
