Outline of Research at the Start

神経変性疾患は認知症の主要な原因疾患である。我々はこれまでに神経変性疾患患者に合併する睡眠の異常（中途覚醒の増加）が神経変性疾患の病態を悪化させることを見出した。しかし睡眠の制御方法は未確立であり、睡眠の異常そのものを治療して神経変性疾患の病態悪化を抑止することは困難である。そこで本研究では、申請者らが独自に開発した実験系を活用して、神経変性疾患モデルマウスに中途覚醒の増加を誘発し、脳脊髄液の高感度プロテオーム解析を行うことで、睡眠の異常の下流で作用する病態修飾因子を明らかにする。本研究で睡眠の異常により神経変性疾患の病態が悪化する分子機構を明らかし、新たな予防/治療標的分子の同定をめざす。
