上掲研究の目的で述べたように、本研究の目的は、移民起業家が現地およびグローバル規模で創出するイノベーションと、彼らの事業展開において醸成してき たソーシャル・キャピタルとが、どのように関連しているのかについて明らかにすることである。その目的を達成するため、本研究では 、起業した現地で実現させたイノベーションを他拠点にどのように移転活用させているのか、即ちグローバル規模でのイノベーションの実現の背景を、主に実態調査の実施によって探究する。その中で、ソーシャル・キャピタル以外の要因についても探究する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study clarified and analyzed, through interviews, how factors such as social capital affect the acquisition of managerial resources and their international retransfer of innovation of immigrant entrepreneurs. First, the study explored the process and background of acquisition of management resources necessary for business and innovation when immigrant entrepreneurs start their businesses. Second, the study explored the international transfer activitites of innovations by immigrant entrepreneurs. We explorerd mainly in the United States (Hawaii), Europe (the UK and France), and Asia (China and Thailand), where each researcher has been involved in their previous research.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
移民起業家が興すイノベーションおよびその移転についての研究についての先行研究は乏しかったが、本研究では、それらを実態調査によって明らかにした点である。これまで、主に大企業の受入国で実現させたイノベーションの第三国での活用、すなわちグローバル・イノベーションあるいはリバース・イノベーションは、今日では経営資源の国際移動の容易化も相まって、海外で事業を興した個人が他国へ事業を展開させたり本国への帰還を果たしたりしている移民起業家による事例も散見される。本研究は、彼らがそれらを実現させるプロセスとその背景という今日的現象について明らかにした点において、独自性かつ創造的な側面があると言える。
