Outline of Research at the Start

多彩な自発的対称性の破れが起こる系である多成分超流体では，その多自由度性に起因して外部形体の異なる様々な位相欠陥が実現することが実験的に確認されているが，その内部構造についてはあまり理解されていない．内部構造の違いは動的性質にも影響するため，内部構造を含めた位相欠陥の動力学の解明は，多成分超流体の量子流体力学と相転移動力学を研究する上で避けては通れない．本課題では，冷却原子気体スピノール・ボース・アインシュタイン凝縮体におけるあらゆる位相欠陥の内部状態およびその動的性質を系統的に調べ，量子流体力学と相転移動力学を融合した「量子転移動力学」という新しいパラダイムを生むための理論的な礎を築く．

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は、量子流体における位相欠陥にかかる理論的研究を実施し、研究成果を学術論文１編、招待講演２回などで報告した。
（１）半整数量子渦のケルビン波の分散関係：従来の超流体中の渦の循環は量子化されており、超流体を構成する粒子の質量とプランク定数できまる循環量子の整数倍であるが、２成分ボース・アインシュタイン凝縮体（BEC）やスピン１BECなどの多成分系では、循環量子の半整数倍の循環を持つ半整数量子渦が存在する。整数の循環をもつ従来の量子渦に比べ、半整数量子渦の挙動の理解は進んでいなかった。本課題では、半整数量子渦の動力学を解明するために、渦の軸がらせん状に変形することで伝わる波であるケルビン波の性質を半整数量子渦に関して調べた。渦の内部構造が無視できる極限では、流体力学的な記述が有効であるため、この波の分散関係は循環量子と渦芯の有効半径によって記述される。ところが、半整数量子渦の分散関係は、循環が整数である渦として振る舞い、多成分の効果は渦芯の有効半径の変化にのみ集約されることがわかった。
（２）量子粘性とレイノルズの相似則：従来の流体中を運動する物体は、粘性によって流体から抗力を受ける。絶対零度の超流体には粘性が理論上存在しないため、理想流体のダランベールのパラドックスとして知られるように、一定速度で運動する物体には抗力が働かない。ところが、運動速度がある臨界速度を超えると量子渦が生成され、抗力が生じると考えられている。本課題では、絶対零度の超流体で有効的に生じる粘性（量子粘性）を導入し、流体力学で知られるレイノルズの相似則を超流体に適用することで、超流体で物体に働く抗力を予言した。

Reason

本年度は、当初海外渡航を予定していたため年度初めから中断手続きを行っていた。また、大きなライフイベントが発生したため、大半の期間は研究を実質中断せざるを得なかった。年度途中から本課題を再開したため、例年よりも研究成果は多くないが、中断期間を考慮するとおおむね順調に進展していると言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

磁性量子流体における位相欠陥の研究を本格的に再開させ、海外の共同研究者との連携を再び強化しながら、研究課題を実施する。さらに、新たに模索し始めた量子粘性の問題についても具体的な数値解析を本格化させる。2022年度のライフイベントのために、2023次年度も休業申請する見込みであるが、サバティカル制度を利用すると共に研究補助員を雇用して研究活動に費やすエフォートを拡充させることで、研究の進捗を加速させる。また、引き続ぎ長期の海外渡航を計画しているが、2023年度は研究の中断申請を行わず、渡航先においても本研究課題を部分的に実施する。
