Outline of Research at the Start

陸域の基本単位である流域において,環境変動が波及するネットワーク性に着目して現象を捉え直した「connectivity」の概念に基づき,本研究では地表環境変動の流域内ネットワーク波及に基づく地形-植生系の相互作用に着目して,数年-数十年スケールでの流域内connectivityを,時空間的かつ多層的な多次元高精細地表情報(MHESD)の取得・解析手法を開発・活用して明らかにする。さらに,地理情報システム(GIS)や人工知能(AI)を用いた統合的な解析を用いて,MHESDによる数年単位の短い時間スケールのみならず,数百-数千年単位といったより長期的なconnectivityの予測を試みる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

流域内connectivity(とくに堆積物、水文、地形)と,そのために適用されるMHESD取得解析の既存手法についての文献収集を継続して行った。現地データに関しては,無人航空機システム(UAS)を中心に,レーザ測量(Lidar)マルチスペクトル(MS),熱赤外(TIR)などのセンシング手法を含めた多層的・時系列的なMHESDの取得方法を実地検証した。とくに,2021年度に導入したUAS-Lidarと,2023年度に導入したUAS-MS/TIRの現地観測適用を進め,地上からのモバイルLidar計測と合わせて,複数の手法で得られるMHESDを集約する方法を検討した。続けて,地理情報システム(GIS)や点群解析ツール等を用いた時空間分析や判別・統計分析を進めた。試験流域は,日本国内の異なる気候・水文・地質環境から複数選定しており,代表的なものは厚真川流域,十勝川流域(北海道),安倍川・富士川流域(静岡・山梨),白川流域(熊本)などである。流域内の斜面崩壊,土石流,河川侵食,洪水・堆積,海岸侵食といった地形・土砂移動現象とその発生場のconnectivityに着目するとともに,撹乱現象からの植生の回復過程を時系列的に捉え,流域内での地形変化から植生遷移といった動的なconnectivityが,時間スケールによってどのように変化するかを明らかにしつつある。研究の成果は,学術誌や学会での発表のみならず,複数のワークショップや国際シンポジウムの開催を通して一般向けの社会還元も含め普及に努めた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

各地におけるデータ収集を進めるとともに、集約したデータの解析に注力しその手法をさらに深化させる。とくに、地形・植生の現象横断的な時系列解析を行い、流域内コネクティビティの可視化を行う。また、研究成果の学術発表とともに、一般公開も兼ねたワークショップ・シンポジウムを企画する。
