| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は，国際的な地理・社会科教育研究界で協働的に進められている国際共同研究「ジオ・ケイパビリティズ（GeoCapabilities）・プロジェクト」へ，これまでの日本型研究成果を基に参画するものである。日本で顕著と推測される教授法的側面（「力強いペダゴギー」）を主軸に据えたアプローチから取り組むことで，知識論（「力強い教科知識」）と教授法（「教科ダイダクティクス」）との乖離を架橋・検証し，成果を国際発信することを最終目的としてる。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aimed to address the international research topic that emerged in the international collaborative research project "GeoCapabilities Project" from an approach centered on "powerful pedagogy" based on Japanese research results, to bridge and verify the gap between "powerful subject knowledge" and "subject didactic" through teacher education of social studies, and to disseminate the results internationally. Research activities included on-site visits and surveys, and holding academic research meetings and symposiums inviting overseas researchers. The result is compiled in the academic book "Capability Approach from Social Studies Education - Pedagogy, Recontextualization, Agency" (edited by Shimura, 2025, Kazama Shobo), which was disseminated both domestically and internationally.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は，国際共同研究「ジオ・ケイパビリティズ（GeoCapabilities）」プロジェクトにおける課題へ，日本の研究成果が貢献するとの国際共通認識を背景に遂行されたものであるため，成果は国際研究課題解決へ貢献するという学術的価値を有している。これは，最終成果報告書籍『社会科教育からのケイパビリティ・アプローチ』に寄稿された，同プロジェクト主宰者ロンドン大学IoE名誉教授D.ランバートによる序文に明確に記されている。また，成果内容は教員養成という教育政策的次元へも関わるものであり，社会的意義も少なくはない。
