Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では,自律的学習者の早期育成を目指し,中学生と大学生の学習記録およびその関連データを収集・分析し,学習能力・学習行動・学習状況などの学習に関わる特性(学習特性)の推定と評価,改善を行う仕組みの研究開発を行う.具体的には,定性的学習記録データと定量的学習記録データを組み合わせ分析を行い,振り返り文などの文中の学習特性に関連する表現と,学習行動データとの対応付けや解釈を行う.これらの結果から,学習行動や学習状況の問題点や改善点の明確化を進め,学習行動や学習状況の改善支援に取り組む.特に,多面的・総合的評価の一助となり,教育評価技術の発展に貢献できる研究開発を目指す.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2023年度の研究対象である 1) 学習特性関連の定量・定性データからの特徴抽出と分析・推定,および 2) フィードバック機構の開発に取り組むにあたって,学習者が,様々な分野の知識を扱うことも想定し,2023年度は,様々な応用分野に対しても共通に役立つ仕組みについての研究に取り組んだ.具体的には,データからの特徴抽出および,予測や識別,回帰などのタスクを実施するために簡潔で軽量なアルゴリズムを利用できるようにするためのデータ表現学習手法についての研究に様々な応用面から取り組んだ.特に,最新技術である対照学習,距離学習,グラフニューラルネットワーク,メタ学習,少量データ学習を活用し,データ表現の洗練化に取り組み,精度向上と計算量削減に努めた.また,2022年度後半に出現した生成AI(ChatGPTなど)についての効果の評価分析と 2)のフィードバック機構を意識した文章生成についての研究にも取り組んだ.その際,タスクに特化したモデル構築と生成AIのAPIを活用したモデル構築についてのトレードオフについての検討も行った.本研究の成果は,国際論文誌1件,国際学会8件,国内研究会・シンポジウム3 件で発表を行った.具体的な内容は,学習者の能力推定(AIED2023),生成AIを活用したモバイルアプリケーション開発(ICMU2023, DPSWS2023),感情認(PACLIC2023),
意図されない文章の特定(CIKM2023),自動採点(ArabicNLP 2023,PRICAI2023),余り有名でない場所の特徴推定(IEEE Access, ISKE2023, WI-IAT2023)
コミュニティノートの有用性評価分析(情報処理学会NL研究会),バス移動時間予測(ITSシンポジウム2023)である.

Reason

本研究の計画時に予定していた学習者の学習状況推定を定量的・定性的データを使って実施する研究項目については,ほぼ終了し,それ以外のデータを使った応用課題に入っていることと,計画時に想定していなかった新技術への対応も行えているため.また,国際的にトップクラスの論文誌や国際会議への発表も行うなど,十分な成果が出てきている.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2023年度に普及した生成AIは,自然な文章生成という長所を有し,回答に必要な情報の提示の仕方の工夫により,求めるタスクを便利にこなしてくれることから,今後,一層普及が進むと考えられる.一方,2023年度の研究から,本研究が目的としていた学習者の学習特性の推定と改善の仕組みの構築の機能提供には直ぐには至らず,本研究目的達成のための地道な基礎研究が必要となることを確認した.そのため,2024年度も,2023年度と同様に,本研究目的達成のための地道な基礎研究を続けていく.特に,様々な応用へ適用可能となるデータ特徴の表現学習の面に着目し,研究を進める.同時に,進歩する大規模言語モデル技術の調査と活用方法についても,特に,対話の状況に着目して研究を進める.
