Outline of Research at the Start

リーマン多様体の収束・崩壊理論は,多様体の曲率と位相の関係を解明する上で重要であり、微分幾何学の主要な研究テーマの一つになっている. 本研究は、断面曲率やリッチ曲率の下からのバウンドの下に、リーマン多様体の収束・崩壊の一般理論構築に向けた取り組みである.位相幾何的手法、極限空間に代表される曲率の概念をもった特異空間の幾何学と幾何解析的手法など, 様々な手法を一層進展させ、総合的に研究を進めて行くことにより、次の課題に挑む:
(I) 崩壊多様体と極限空間の間の位相的、幾何的、解析的な関係を解明する.
(II) 極限空間に代表される曲率の概念をもつ距離空間の幾何解析を進展させる.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

曲率が上に有界な距離空間は局所CAT(1)空間ともよばれ、幾何学的群論をはじめ、他分野にも広く関連する。これまでの研究で、我々は曲率が上に有界な2次元距離空間の局所構造を完全に決定した。これは、曲率が上に有界な距離空間の一般的な局所構造を(2次元ではあるものの)世界で初めて解明したという点でも意義深い。今年度、局所構造に関するPartIの論文が、国際誌 Geometry and Topology に掲載されることになった。今年度の研究において、そのような空間の局所CAT(1)多面体による定量的ホモトピー近似やガウスボンネ定理、さらに測地空間が2次元局所CAT(1)空間であるための必要十分条件を線織面などの言葉で記述した。これらの結果をPartIIの論文としてまとめ、arXiv 並びに国際数学雑誌に投稿することができた(永野幸一氏と塩谷隆氏との共同研究)。非崩壊の枠組みにおけるアレクサンドロフ空間のリプシッツ・ホモトピー収束に関して、定性的な結果が三石・山口により知られていた。我々はこの結果を改良し、定量的なリプシッツ・ホモトピー収束に関する結果を得た。この結果を論文にまとめ、arXiv 並びに国際数学雑誌に投稿することができた(三石史人氏、藤岡禎司氏との共同研究)。以前我々は境界をもたない3次元アレクサンドロフ空間の崩壊に関する研究をまとめ、国際誌に発表した。今年度の研究により、崩壊する境界つき3次元アレクサンドロフ空間の位相を特異ファイブレーションの言葉を用いて完全に決定した。特に極限空間が1次元以下である場合、3次元崩壊アレクサンドロフ空間は非負曲率アレクサンドロフ空間に同相であることなどが判明した(三石史人氏との共同研究)。2月に筑波大学において、研究集会「リーマン幾何と幾何解析」を開催し、研究分野の最新の動向についての情報を得ると共に、後進の育成に努めた。

2次元局所CAT(1)空間の大域構造に関する論文、アレクサンドロフ空間の定量的リプシッツ・ホモトピー収束に関するの論文、3次元境界付きアレクサンドロフ空間の崩壊に関する論文を書き終えて、arXiv や国際誌に投稿しているため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

先ずは、境界付きリーマン多様体の極限空間の幾何学を展開して、このような極限空間の幾何学の基礎を確立し、論文完成を目指す。さらにリッチ曲率が下に有界なリーマン多様体で内半径崩壊するものの極限空間に関する論文を完成させる。
