Outline of Research at the Start

相関電子系では、誘電性・磁性・弾性などの諸性質を複数含むような物性現象が現れる。それらの発現に本質的なミクロな電子自由度の役割を理解することは、今後の高機能・高効率な物質設計へとつなげていくためにも重要である。本研究では、結晶中における電子自由度を統一的に表現できる拡張多極子を用いることで、従来の群論による「マクロな対称性と物性現象」の枠組みを超えて「ミクロな電子自由度と物性現象」という電子自由度に立脚した理論形式を構築し、さらなる機能物性探索へと展開するための理論的基盤の確立を目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

物性物理における多彩な機能物性の発現は、系のマクロな対称性により予測されるが、より高機能・高効率な物質設計へとつなげていくためには、それらの発現に本質的なミクロな電子自由度の役割を理解する必要がある。本研究の目的は、結晶中における電子自由度を統一的に表現できる “拡張多極子”を用いることで、従来の群論による「マクロな対称性⇔物性」の枠組みを超えて「ミクロな電子自由度⇔物性」という電子自由度に立脚した新しい理論形式を構築することである。本年度においては、非従来型の多極子を伴う秩序状態の発現によって現れる交差相関応答および量子伝導に関する知見を得ることを目指した。具体的な研究成果を以下に示す。
(1) 磁気トロイダル双極子秩序および磁気四極子秩序が示す内因性非線形異常ホール効果の微視的機構の解析、(2) 立方晶系における多重Q磁気秩序を解析するための有効スピン模型構築、(3) 対称性適合多極子基底を用いた分子および結晶に対する表現論の構築、(4) 結晶点群Tdにおける磁気スキルミオン結晶の安定化機構、(5) 面内磁場印加による反強磁性スキルミオン結晶の発現に関する理論提案、(6) 空間反転対称な正方格子系における磁気バブル相の発現に関する理論提案、(7) フロッケ理論および磁性表現論に基づいたレーザー誘起磁気相互作用の導出、(8) 4重Q磁気秩序におり構成されるチェッカーボードバブル結晶相の発現に関する理論提案、(9) 2重Q磁気秩序におけるチャーン絶縁体の解析、(10) 反強磁性体における時間反転変換応答、(11) URu2Si2における隠れた秩序変数としてのカイラル電荷秩序の理論提案、(12) 極性磁性体EuNiGe3における複数の磁気スキルミオン相の構造相転移の理論、(13)極性結晶におけるハイブリッドスキルミオン結晶相およびアンチスキルミオン結晶相の発現に関する理論提案。

Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

研究計画当初では予期していなかった新しい交差相関応答および非線形現象(磁気トロイダル双極子秩序および磁気四極子秩序が示す内因性非線形異常ホール効果、反強磁性体における時間反転変換応答)を開拓できたため。また、URu2Si2やEuNiGe3など種々の物質群に対する理論解析を行うことで、理論の立場から新しい方向性を指摘できたことも理由の一つである。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2024年度は、これまでの研究を引き続き行いつつ、以下の点を推進する予定である。
(1) 2つのトロイダル多極子(磁気トロイダル多極子、電気トロイダル多極子)がもたらす交差相関応答物性の解析:対象としては、磁気トロイダル単極子がもたらす時間反転変換応答、磁気トロイダル双極子がもたらす線形電気磁気効果、 磁気トロイダル四極子がもたらすスピン流生成、電気トロイダル単極子がもたらすカイラリティ物性、電気トロイダル双極子がもたらすフェロアキシャル物性、電気トロイダル四極子がもたらす異方的カイラルフォノンとする。各系に対して、群論および模型解析を通じて、多極子と電子自由度との関連性およびその秩序状態がもたらす諸物性を明らかにする。 また、候補物質を提案することで実験探索への礎を築く。
(2) フェロアキシャル秩序変数の微視的機構の解析:時間反転対称性および空間反転対称性が保たれた系で発現するフェロアキシャル秩序状態を対象とした解析を行う。特に、フェロアキシャル秩序状態における微視的な秩序変数に相当する電気トロイダル双極子が電子のスピン・軌道自由度とどのように関連しているかを模型解析を通じて調べる。系としては、電気トロイダル双極子自由度を含む基本的な模型を考え、スピン軌道相互作用や結晶場の有無、大小関係によって秩序変数の大きさがどのように変化するかを明らかにする。
(3) 反強磁性体における非相反フォノンの微視的理論:反強磁性秩序による対称性の低下がフォノン分散にもたらす影響を理論的に調べる。 特に、空間反転対称性を破るような反強磁性状態に対して、格子自由度を併せて考慮することで、スピン-フォノン結合がフォノン分散に与える影響を調べる。得られると期待される非対称分散のもとでの非線形物性現象について議論する。
