Outline of Research at the Start

目標は、既存の量子通信路を一般化したモデルに対する誤り訂正符号の理論的実現である。
もう１つの目標は、古典符号理論から自然に導かれる予想である。古典符号理論では、削
除誤りを訂正する符号は、削除誤りと挿入誤りを組合わせた誤り訂正できる、という強力な定理がある。この量子版を証明することが目標である。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

量子削除符号の一般論を探るべく「Knill-Laflamme条件」および「削除誤りと挿入誤りの可換性」に関する考察を行い成果を得た。「Knill-Laflamme条件」とは、量子符号があるクラスの誤りに対して誤り訂正可能であることを局所的に解析する条件である。そのクラスにはパウリ誤りを含むことが知られている。今年度の研究において、量子削除誤り訂正ができない符号でもKnill-Laflamme条件を満たすことを反例を以て示した。これは、そのクラスに量子削除誤りが含まれないことを意味している。続く「削除誤りと挿入誤りの可換性」は、古典符号理論で良く知られた理論である。具体的には「ある系列Xに対して削除誤りと挿入誤りを順番に作用させて系列Yを得たとする。このとき、系列Xに対して挿入誤りと削除誤りを順番に作用させて系列Yを得ることができる。逆も真なり」という言明である。これが量子版では成り立たないことを、反例を以て示した。以上が今年度得られた主な理論的な成果である。
成果発表として、米国ハワイ大学でのセミナーでの講演、シンガポール南洋理工大学およびシンガポール国立大学での講演を行った。電子情報通信学会の会誌から量子削除誤り訂正に関する入門論文を招待論文として執筆依頼頂いた。すでに書き上げて投稿している。２０２４年度中に出版される予定である。
その他、削除誤り訂正符号の研究で得られた知見を活かして、Array Typeの古典削除誤り訂正符号について、韓国の江原大学校、西江大学校と共同研究を行い、論文として出版した。

Reason

量子削除誤り訂正および量子挿入誤り訂正の研究は基礎理論が乏しく研究成果を挙げずらい。今年度は、他の量子誤り訂正や古典削除誤り訂正との本質的な差異があることを明らかにしたという意味で、基盤的な知見が得られた。こういった知見の積み重ねが続けることが、科学として大切なことと考えられる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

量子削除誤り訂正符号の入門的な講演を各所で開催し、当該分野の研究人口を増やす活動を行いたい。量子削除誤り訂正符号は日本がリードしている。このリードを保てるように、国内の研究人口を増やしていく。一方で、海外にも知見を広めて、国際共同研究の機会を増やしつつ、日本のイニシアティブを確保する。
