Outline of Research at the Start

VR内での空間認知や行動の効率化と,その個人毎の差異の評価を可能にするため,これまでに明らかにされていないVR環境内で行動する場合の周囲の空間認知,とくに自己位置や空間的位置関係の把握や,操作する道具の身体化の神経学的機序を明らかにすること,また,身体化の過程で生じる脳認知・行動機能の変化を行動指標と脳活動・脳構造指標を用いて評価することを目的とする.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,VR環境の身体化の過程で生じる脳認知・行動機能の変化を行動指標と脳活動・脳構造指標をもとにしたモデルを構築すること,さらにはそれを用いて特定の課題成績の向上を評価の可能性を検証することを目的とした.この目的に向けて今年度は,VRゴーグルを装着した状態で脳波を計測し,比較的振幅の大きなθ・α・β帯域の自発脳活動の,課題開始等のイベントに同期した強度変化(event-related synchronization/ desynchronization)と,聴覚課題非関連プローブ刺激(auditory task irrelevance probe stimuli)に対するN1誘発電位をロバストに計測する技術を確立した.同時に,この技術を用いて,VR内に街路を移動するナビゲーションのシミュレーション環境を作成し,手がかりとして与える情報を制御して,ナビゲーション中の注意状態の脳波による計測と,ナビゲーション中に構築される認知地図の正確さを評価する実験系を構築した.これを用いて,手がかり情報の違いによる周囲環境の身体化と関連の深い認知地図の精度を行動指標として評価し,同時に手がかり情報呈示時の注意状態を課題非関連プローブ誘発電位で評価した.この結果,AR(augumented reality)技術を用いた遠位ランドマーク(distal landmark)の呈示により,心的な認知地図の構築がより短時間で可能になると同時に,その精度が向上する効果があることを示した.

昨年度までに確立した,実験協力者の安全と感染症対策の下で実験を順調に進める体制が構築され,これまでの実験実施の遅れを取り戻しつつある.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今年度確立したVR環境内での脳活動の計測技術と,VRゴーグルによるナビゲーション課題呈示技術を用いて,市街地のナビゲーションにおける認知地図の構築,すなわち地理情報の身体化におよぼす,周囲の地理情報の情報呈示方法の影響を評価する研究について,これまでに得られたデータの取りまとめと国際学会発表や論文等による公表を進める.さらに,VR環境の身体化の過程で生じる脳認知・行動機能の変化を行動指標と脳活動指標を用いて明らかにする基盤となるデータ取得を引き続き行う.
