本研究では、特に、中世的な〈武〉の実践の時代から近世の平和な時代へ移行する１７世紀に焦点をあてて、文化的な〈武〉の在り方を尾張徳川家の尾張藩を核として、毛利家の萩藩（支藩である徳山・岩国・長府毛利家も研究対象とする）、松山藩、宇和島藩（愛媛県の小藩も研究対象とする）の３つの地域の藩を比較対象として調査する。それにより、各藩共通の問題、藩により異なる問題が明確となり、今後の全国の大名家の文物の調査における一つの分析の軸を提供できるものと考えている。

17世紀の合戦図屏風の調査分析の成果を国際学会で発表し、海外の研究者と議論することができた。
This panel on the pictorialization of Genpei battles in the early modern period focuses on screens once owned by powerful daimyou. 今治市河野美術館の平家物語下絵の復元作業を愛知県立芸術大学教員の協力を得て続行中である。
宇和島伊達文化保存会の所蔵品を調査することができた。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
調査のできる環境が整い、所蔵館の許可もおりて、新資料の発掘、調査が進んでいる。屏風をリーフレットにする許可も得られ、屏風を撮影する技術を有するカメラマンとの契約も進めることができている。国際学会における発表は、海外の研究者から良い反応が得られている。ただし、急激な円安のために、当初、全員で参加する予定であった国際学会の現地に赴ける人数が限られたことで、現地に行くことのできなかったメンバーは、オンライン参加となった。通常なら現地で得られる研究者間の非公式の交流の中での情報も伝達されることとなり、つっこんだやりとりを直接することができなかったメンバーがいたのは残念なことであった。それゆえに、区分を「おおむね」とした。

報収集と成果の社会還元のため、EAJS国際学会での発表を行う。
調査の過程で見出された新出資料・重要資料については、所蔵機関に配慮しつつ翻刻や説明を付したリーフレット等の形で紹介し、成果の社会還元を図る。
復元した平家物語下絵に解説を加えて展示を行う。
