| Outline of Research at the Start |
複数の近代帝国の相互影響関係を前景化し、その文脈に各々の植民地主義と反植民地主義を捉えて再考する「間-帝国史（trans-imperial history）」を、言語の壁を越えて史料の読解に基づいた実証史学の一分野として発展させていくにはどうすればよいか。本研究の目的は、誰もが参照可能なモデル事例および理論・方法論的な枠組みを提示することである。そのために、各メンバーが海外での文献調査を基にして英・仏・
蘭・独・米・日の帝国に関して実証研究を行い、それぞれの事例を有機的に連関させるべく相互に分析を行う。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
メンバーが全員加入しているCenter for Transimperial History(CTH)を通して、以下の国際学術イベントを開催した：① ‘Meet the Author Series： Sakiko Nakao, the Author of Nationaliser le panafricanisme（6月8日）;②‘Research Showcase Series: Satoshi Mizutani,‘The Dual Transimperiality of British Colonial Thought(10月12日)；③‘Research Showcase Series: Vicky Shen, The Possibility of the Nonhuman in Transimperial History（2月23日）。また、研究代表者の水谷と研究分担者の中尾は、11月末にサンフランシスコで開催された第66回African Studies Association Annual Meetingに参加し、中尾が企画したパネル‘Crossing Imperial Boundaries: Transimperial Circulations and Anti-colonial Strategies'において報告を行った。さらに水谷と分担者の役重は、インド・ボンベイで3月4－5日に開催された国際研究会Decolonizing Politico-Religious Relations in Asia—Interfaith Dialogue Towards Sustainable Peace in the Post-Nation-State Eraに参加し、研究報告を行った。

実証研究のための海外文献調査が一通り終了した。一方で、「間帝国史」研究の理論構築をグローバルに行うための海外研究者との連携が計画以上に進展した。

共同歴史研究の成果を論集にまとめるために、2024年6月に研究会、2025年3月に公開ワークショップを開催する予定である。
