| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、紙の史料集とデジタルデータの双方の特質を再検討し、研究・討論・再解釈化を行う。この過程では、紙媒体の史料集の「選択」「構成」の再解釈をも企図している。本研究では、紙史料集とデジタル化されたデータのふたつを両輪のように動かしていくことにより史料研究を深化することを目指していく。本研究でのデジタライゼーションとは、この研究過程全体を指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The three pillars of project: (1) research on archives through digitalization, (2) social collaboration by strengthening ties with institutions that hold archives, and (3) dissemination of research results. Activities of (1) were the study, expansion, release, and renovation of the “Early Modern History Compilation Support Database” of the University of Tokyo and the public of “Bakumatsu Restoration Historical Documents Cross Search System” . As the results of (2) and (3), we held symposia: “Research on the History of the Bakumatsu Restoration and the Ii Family Historical Materials” (FY2022, in cooperation with the Hikone Castle Museum), “The ‘Okuni’ and ‘Kogi’ in the Early Modern Period” (FY2023, in cooperation with the Eiseibunko Foundation), and “The Future of Digitization and Historical Research” (FY2024).

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本共同研究は、紙による情報提供から、オンラインによる情報発信への急速な移行期である現代社会にあって、両者の良さと欠点を探り、その架橋のもといかに学術情報の発信を行うべきかという問題関心に基づき、実施された。本研究は、近世史料に的を絞り、「近世史編纂支援データベース」の拡充・公開・修正を行うと同時に、各地の史料館と協力した研究公開のありかたを検討し、さらに、デジタル情報に関わる各分野の専門家・実務家を招いてのデジタライジング研究会を重ねたうえでの成果発信を行った。このことは、歴史学に関わる学術的オンライン公開の在り方について、学界・社会に対する発信としての意義をもつ。
