当該研究プロジェクトは、民主主義の後退と権威主義の台頭、ウクライナ戦争を契機とする中ロの連携強化、いわゆるグローバル・サウスの台頭といった国際政治の趨勢を概括しつつ、BRICS、一帯一路（BRI）、上海協力機構（SCO）といった中国を中心とする国際協力の枠組みや非公式の連携が、東南アジア、中央アジア、中東等の権威主義諸国の体制維持強化に寄与していることを検証する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Based on the hypothesis that China's international rise is promoting the resurgence of authoritarianism, this study examined cooperation and networking between authoritarian nations through examples from Russia and Eastern Europe. The analysis was deepened by gaining comparative perspectives through research meetings and overseas surveys. Multiple factors, such as globalization and the political use of social media, act to strengthen authoritarianism, and cooperative relationships centered on China contribute to accelerating this trend. Research on electoral authoritarianism and the impact of digital technology were also important perspectives, and it was confirmed that the introduction of Chinese technology has an impact on strengthening the regimes of other countries.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
経済力と軍事力を拡大し、国際社会でその存在感を急激に増す中国の動向は、日本の安全保障環境の観点からも、学術面のみならず、政策、そして社会の関心を呼んできた。一方、中ロをはじめとする権威主義体制は国際社会で伸長傾向にあり、トランプ政権の米国をはじめとする民主主義諸国は、国内政治の安定性や実効的な政策の実施の面で多くの課題を抱えている。こうした権威主義の伸長と民主主義の退潮という問題意識に基づく本研究の成果は、国際政治と比較政治学を架橋するという学術的意義のみならず、国際政治に関する政策や社会の関心にも応えるものである。
