2022年度には郵送調査を実施し、2023年度にはインタビュー調査を実施した。2024年度は、これらの量的データを用いて多重対応分析を行いつつ、その特性を活かしてインタビュー調査のデータと対照させる混合研究法を実践する。研究内容としては、音楽空間、視覚芸術空間、読むことの空間、映像メディア空間、スポーツ空間を構築して分析しつつ、ジェンダー、階級、世代などの切り口から各々の空間を横断する形で分析を行う。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
With 'Culture and Inequality' as the main theme, a postal survey was conducted in the Kanto region in fiscal year 2022, followed by interview surveys in fiscal year 2023. In fiscal year 2024, a mixed-methods research approach was implemented, utilizing multiple correspondence analysis with the quantitative data while leveraging its characteristics to contrast it with the interview survey data. The research content involved constructing and analyzing musical space, visual arts space, reading space, visual media space, and sports space, while conducting cross-sectional analysis of each space from the perspectives of gender, class, and generation.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、ベネットらの『文化・階級・卓越化』を含むヨーロッパの研究動向に対し、①文化が原因となる不平等とは何か、②文化資源の不平等な配分とは何か、という２つの問題を日本での社会調査を通じて探究し、独自の理論構築と混合研究法の開発を行う点に特徴がある。本研究は、『文化・階級・卓越化』ではなされていない現代社会の階級構造の分析に踏み込む。加えて、関東地方で実施する調査データの分析を通じて現代日本社会で文化資本と呼びうるものは何かを明らかにしつつ、理論的にも文化資本概念の再定義を試みている。
