| Outline of Research at the Start |
ケイパビリティ概念の理論的検討を共同で行うために，学会に合わせて研究会を開催する．
北海道・東北地域，東京近郊，そして九州の地域社会を事例とした地域づくりの実践をケイパビリティ・アプローチから評価しつつ，実践の方策を考案する．

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究は，地域社会の再生と再創造を図る際に，ケイパビリティの理論的可能性を理論的・実証的に再審する．今年度はケイパビリティ概念の再検討という理論的検討を行なった．
この成果として，フィレンツェに行われた国際学会での発表２件，スペインでの国際学会での発表を行なってきた．後者の内容は，研究書の一部として出版されている．また，学会編集の生涯学習辞典の大項目「地域づくりの現代的課題」への寄稿を依頼され，投稿して現在印刷中である．

Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
定期的に研究会を開催し，理論的検討を重ねてきた．また，本研究の成果を踏まえ，日本社会教育学会発行の生涯学習辞典の中の「地域づくり」の項目を執筆する中心メンバーとなっている．国際学会での研究成果の一端を報告し，大きな大きな注目をあつめることができた．研究成果の一部は国際学会で発表し，諸外国の研究者との質疑を通して広く周知することができた．
また，公表という面では，研究書１冊，辞典の編纂に大きく寄与することができた．

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
今年度はひきつづき理論的検討及びその成果の国際的公開を進めるとともに，実証的研究を進めるフィールドを改めて確認し，基礎調査を行う予定である．このために学会に合わせて研究会の開催，年度末の研究成果を確認する検討会の開催を仙台市において行う予定である．
