Outline of Research at the Start	多細胞生物におけるさまざまな形態は、多細胞間の時空間的相互作用によって形成される。近年、形態形成過程での「集団的細胞運動」が注目され、関与する分子群や細胞間相互作用のダイナミクスが明らかになってきたが、どのような原理や法則で秩序ある形態を形成するのかを細胞生物学的立場から統合的に説明できるには至っていない。本研究では、血管新生から血管網形成における樹枝状構造および管腔構造の形成を題材とし、計測データから抽出された血管内皮細胞の動態に注目した数理モデルによるアプローチにより、普遍的な形態秩序の構築原理への発展も視野に入れて、多細胞動態による生体における形態形成の機構を解明することを目指す。
