Outline of Research at the Start

近年、細胞内の高次構造形成の機構として、相分離やゲル化といった相転移が注目されているが、その制御機構は生命のもつ非平衡性や多成分性などの影響により複雑で未解明である。申請者らは、人工細胞を用いた相転移の解析から、細胞サイズでは前提となる熱平衡状態や多様な相転移現象が、ミリリットル量以上のバルク系とは異なる結果を得た。この知見をもとに、本研究では高分子混合溶液の熱平衡状態と外部刺激による変化に対して細胞空間が及ぼす影響を解析することで、細胞内相転移を物理的に理解するための基盤を構築する。
